Hockey is crazy expensive around here. My neighbours just signed up their son and cost them $400. plus equipment costs on top of that.
We paid 130. for Austin to play soccer this year. Not to bad considering he it!!! And he is doing so great, and meeting new friends!

I haven't had to pull them out of something but we have had to say no a whole lot when they ask to play a sport.

My girls take dance and that has been really affordable at $6 a class. They want to play soccer this year and I beleive that with all the fees it will be about $120 each. Not sure if that is going to happen or not but they will stay in dance.

Cost of sports is insane. Soccer here in Menomonee Falls/GermanTOwn area is over $100. But at home in THeresa it costs $25 for the season. How crazy is that?

When I was in HS I was made to drop out of Tennis/which I was great at so that I could babysit my brother when my parents were at work.

nope- I haven't had to pull Lys out of anything and I never ahd to quit anything. I think its very im,portant for children to get involved in things. I did better in school and had more fun when I was involved in things. I will do what it takes to keep my children involeves as long as THEY enjoy it and they aren't in a million things. If they are involved in a million things then we may need to weigh what is most important.

If Haley really wanted to play a sport (which I doubt will ever happen) I would try my best to afford it. I think it is really important also.
Mike wants to get Zach into ice hockey next year. I'd be happier with T-ball.

Becca, Rachel will get to take dance as soon as life gets back on track. Hold that head up
Soccer is unbelievable in price, Ali never did get in to that. I think hockey would be fun. Hey Jenn you going to let your boys play when they are old enough?
I to feel participating in sports or other area's are important. If Ali wanted to do a sport you bet we would do our best to make sure she can do it.

WOW I didnt realize the cost of sports have gone up soooooo much. On military posts they try to make sports affordable for everyone. Soccer runs us about $50 to sign up two children plus shoes and shin guards, they supply the uniform. Dance, ballet, for my dd is $25 a month and karate for my son is $50 a month which I think is to much lol but he enjoys it. Most other activities are $25 a month, with soccer most trips are within 50 miles and those that cannot afford the gas are offered rides by those that can. So, I guess we got it pretty good.
