Hi Kim (and fellow 'Mother Nurses')
This is probably a really basic question but I don't know the answer so here goes.
I was putting on my roll on deoderant yesterday and realised very quickly that I have swollen glands under my right arm, what causes that??
I have had swollen glands in my throat many many times and I know that is caused by a cold, tonsilitis or some other infection in the head mainly. My understanding of the glands is that they filter your blood for infections etc to stop them going all around your blood stream.
The only thing I can think of is that my right shoulder is still in a heck of a lot of pain from that fall I had a few weeks ago (I just started back on anti inflammatorys yesterday and I'm going for an ultra sound next week bc the area is 'inflamed' at the moment)
But would inflamed muscles cause swollen glands??? Muscle inflamation isn't an infection (as far as I am aware anyway). I don't know if I should attempt to find a Dr's appointment or just wait it out, if I know what was causing it I will be able to make my mind up.
Thanking you in advance

Steve gets swollen glands under his arms from Lupus. I used to get them every once in awhile, too. Then I switched from antipersperant to deodorant only and it went away.
It could be any number of things. Go to the Dr so I don't worry-k?
I barely remember it, but it went away and never came back. It lasted about a week and I didn't call the dr either.
