Soap in the mouth - Page 2

It didn't hurt me nor my parents when they got that. Soap isn't going to kill them and if they learn? I so go for it, now I wouldn't agree with sticking a bar in the mouth or a ton of it. My SIL used to do the tobasco sauce thing... it was always more of a threat. Until her daughter actually did get it once and went !

Don't know that I would do it unless it really became a problem, but I don't see it as being abuse or wrong to do. It's not harmful to the child and probably a good way to teach them a lesson.

My 4 year old has only used a "grown up word" about twice. Of course, if I swear in front of her (which I try not to do) she yells out "you used a grown up word-now I get to spank your hand!" That's what we agreed upon-she refrains from the swear words and if I use them she spanks my hand. I think the feeling of control over my language gives her the ability to control her own and takes away the thrill of using the bad word.

I'll have to try that with my boys. I know they like pointing it out when I use a "grown up" word.

And never let your kids watch "So I Married and Axe Murderer" more than once. Ben had potty mouth for a WEEK!
