Dumb Question....

I know this may be a dumb question, but can you ovulate and still not get pregnant?
That's what happens evey month when you get your period. I'm sure we O but the sperm just don't meet the egg in order for us to get PG. We probably have sex at the wrong time.

So I should be able to get PG if I ovulate every month?

How long have you been trying? Do you know when you ovulate? There might be another reason if it has taken a long time.

Getting PG takes two, so if you sure your Ovulating and nothing is happening you might as DH to get checked. He could have a low sperm count.

Ovulation isn't the only factor though...even on the womens side. There could be other factors such as scar tissue, hostile mucous, egg quality, etc. If you have been having un-protected sex for 5 years with no PG then you should talk to the dr. If you have only been doing the unprotected thing for 3 months then give it time. All factors have to be right for conception so it can take time.

DH has been checked he is okay, I am really down about this, I am ready to give up and just accept the fact that we may never become parents

Don't give up talk to your DR about other options. You may just need something to help make it happen.

I would talk to your doctor. Ovulating is just one factor in getting pregnant.

This is NOT technical - but - my sister has sistic fibrosis (I know I just really hammered the spelling on that)...
Anyways - she had to go to the dr, have a surgery to "clean her out", then within a month she was pregnant.
(She could tell you more about this.)

But, my point is, she was ovulating, but the sperm wasn't able to get to the egg in time.

Good luck!
