This week sees just one recall — batteries used in radio-controlled toy helicopters.

Hobbico Inc. is issuing a recall of the batteries used in its radio-controlled helicopter kits, citing the batteries’ ability to overheat and catch fire while charging. This can pose a serious fire hazard. There have been 28 reports of of batteries overheating and/or melting, including 27 reports of visible flames.

The batteries included in the recall are the Elecrifly lithium-polymer batteries (#GPMP0401), which were sold individually or with the Heli-max Axe CP-L radio-controlled helicopter kits. “Electrifly” and “GPMP0401″ are printed on the batteries.

Consumers are asked to stop using the batteries immediately, and contact Hobbico for instructions on returning the battery for a free refund.
