Thursday Recall Roundup: July 3-10, 2008
This week’s recalls include some infant sleeping clothes, youth bed toy chests, some children’s jewelry, and a remote controlled toy vehicle.

1. Rashti & Rashti has issued a recall of its Taggies Sleep’n Play Infant Garments. The garments are onesies with snaps down the front, and are being recalled because of the potential for the snaps to detach, causing a choking hazard.
The clothes were sold in sizes 0-3 months, 3-6 months, and 6-9 months. Each one has “RN #27829” printed on the care label. These garments were sold at Buy Buy Baby, Dillard’s, Nordstrom, and other stores from June 2007 to May 2008, and cost about $20.
If you own these garments, return them to Rashti & Rashti immediately for a full refund. You can contact them at (888) 594-3730 between 8:30am and 9:30pm (ET) Monday through Friday, or via their website at www.rashtiandrashti.com.

2. Bayside Furnishings has issued a recall of their LaJolla Boat Bed and Pirates of the Caribbean Twin Trundle Beds. This recall is in response to the death of a 22-month-old boy. The lid that covers the toy chest part of the bed has no mechanism to prevent or slow the lid closing, posing a hazard for children to be trapped and/or injured.
The beds were sold at Costco and other furniture stores from January 2006 through May 2008, for $700 to $1,400. Parents are advised to immediately stop children from using the toy chest, and to contact Bayside for information on receiving a free repair kit with replacement lid supports. You can contact Bayside at (877) 494-2536 anytime, or via their website at www.baysidefurnishings.com.

3. Bead Bazaar is issuing a recall of their “It’s a Girl Thing” Bracelets, Necklaces, and Phone Charms, citing high levels of toxic lead, which can cause adverse health effects.
The jewelry was sold at retailers across the U.S. from February 2006 through June 2008, for about $6 each. If you own these items, you are advised to take it away from children immediately and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. You can contact Bead Bazaar at (800) 838-1769 between 9:00am and 5:00pm (ET) Monday through Friday, or via their website at www.beadkit.com.

4. Redcat Racing is issuing a recall of their Redcat Racing FM Remote Controlled Vehicles, saying that the remote control unit can lose its signal, causing the toy vehicle to lose control. There are several varieties of the toys that have been reported; you can see a table here.
The toys were sold at retailers across the nation from March 2007 through April 2008, for between $260 and $400. If you own this product, you can contact Redcat Racing for a replacement remote control. They can be reached collect at (602) 454-6445 between 8:00am and 5:00pm (MT) Monday through Friday, or via their website at www.redcatracing.com.
