Do you file them yourself or take them somewhere?

We always file ourselves with QuickTax. Cheaper than having someone else do basic taxes. But if we had alot of complicated things we would have someone else do them.

We normally go to H&R Block, but this year we decided to do it ourselves, we used Turbo Tax. Saved a BUNCH of money!

H&R Block. I tried Turbo Tax once, and I was so afraid that something would be wrong, I still ended up taking them to H&R Block.

um - 4 DQ's 3 rental properties = 3 seperate coperate returns + investments (such as stocks & such) There ain't no way I could do it myself! and neither can Kev -

Our accountant does them and while they do a good job - its cost $500 for them to do the personal taxes and it takes them FOREVER to get them done. I dont think in the 5 years we've filed jointly that they have ever been done on time.

Up until this year, I did them with Turbo Tax. This year with Billy's private practice and my EBay, we are going straight to the accountant.

Because John itemizes and has so many deductions he can take from doing side jobs and tools, laundry and such for work, we had them done last year and will do again this year. It kept us from owing and actually got us money back. She knows all the cuts we don't.

We use a family-owned service here locally. My fil used them for many years and then when Steve was out and on his own he started using them and has ever since. They do a good job and we like them so we will continue to use them.

We used to do them ourselves until a few years ago. When we did them that year, we were going to have to pay, so we went to the place DH's parents used, and we ended up getting a refund. So, we figured this guy is worth the $100 and we go to him loyally.

My FIL does our taxes.

It's actually against the law for him to do them because he's employed by the government. He's a State HUD Auditor. But we just sign them like we did them ourselves!
