I spend between 300-500 a month on food... Depends on who is eating here, if it is just me and the girls then I stay close to the 300, add in Jim or dinner guests and the cost goes up

I spend about $200/MONTH for a family of 4.

I just posted this in another thread.

A few years back we had some very serious financial problems due to the saleofabusiness.I had a children's & baby's clothing store. I sold it & the woman I sold it to totally screwed us over. She paid a portion of the down payment & that was IT! She even kept 90% of the inventory so I couldn't even recoup anything that way. As it stood, we kept ALL the debt AND were never paid. Had she follwed through, we would have had a nice little profit in the end.

During that time when we were trying to get back on our feet I discovered The Grocery Game. Iamsureithas already been discussed on here, utlet me just say...We are a family of4 & it has brought our grocery bill from about $600-650/month to about $200/month...which INCLUDES me stocking up on diapers, baby food & other baby things I will need when baby boy gets here. This is for EVERYTHING I buy at the grocery store. Cleaning products, hygiene products, baby stuff, food, milk, produce, meat, bread, etc.

I am even able to donate a LOT to the food pantry each month, too. In fact, I donate MORE now, while spending LESS, than I ever was able to before.

In the last 3 years I have saved so much that we have paid for 2 trips to Disneyland & a Stokke Xplory Stroller.

It is just something to think about. I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving!

We go to Aldi's in Tulsa about twice a month and spend $60 each trip stocking up on mixes, frozen food, cheese, canned goods, etc.. We spend maybe $25-30 every week and a half on meat and other items at Wal-Mart or one of the other grocery stores, depending on what is on sale. I also go to the bread store and get cheap bread and snack cakes there. I've never spent more than $10 there for two weeks worth of stuff.

Since the kids are eating dinner at their babysitter's house roughly 4 times a week, my food bill has dropped from about $140 a week to around $90. That is for breakfast items, LOTS of milk, snack food, and 3 - 4 dinners and lunches.

I spend about $170-$200 a week on food and household things at WalMart each week. Every few weeks I spend about $250 to stock up on meats for the freezer.

I wanted to say that I am closer to $200 when the girls want to bring their lunch to school. When I can convince them to eat at school, I only spend $15 a week ($60 a month) for both of them to eat the cafateria lunch at school. If they insist on bringing their lunches, I spend about $30-$40 a week just for things for them to bring to school for lunch.
Needless to say, I try to convince them to eat at school.
