I've never seen anything like this! It sure would be cheaper than regular Pedialyte. I'm not sure if this has all the electrolytes that are in Pedialyte though. I'll have to check the bottle.

I asked several pediatricians about using homemade "Pedialyte" and they said not to use it under any circumstances! I don't know how electrolytes are made, but that is the most important ingredient and can't be duplicated at home.

WalMart has a generic electrolyte solution that is $1.50 - $2.50 per bottle compared to the name brand at $5.00!

I would not even take the chance. The store brands have what a sick child needs. You can use the generic store brand and it is just as good.
