We went and filled up the van a couple of days ago. We found out that there is way cheap gas in the south end of the city...so we drove down there....and instead of paying $40 to fill the van it only cost us $27 gotta love those savings...Later on that day Jerry decided to take the truck down there.....instead of paying almost $70 to fill it....he only paid $46!!!!!!! If their gas prices stay that way we are going down there more often!!

I have not been too good today on me. It is COLD in the basement so I have been drying all our clothes!

But .. we have used the fireplace again today and ate leftovers for lunch!

12/14

It is pretty warm outside today! (around 50) so the heat hardly ever cuts on and we are not burning firewood!!

I'm going to hang dry as much as I can fit into the bathrooms! basement is too cold.

Kale will be in cloth diapers.

Instead of renting movies tonight, we are watching Christmas movies on television.

I'm making Kirstie-Raie a BEAUTIFUL fleece shirt today and it only cost me $2!

Baking from scratch today.

I'll buy my Sunday paper today and clip coupons!

I bough some meet in bulk for cheap and I'll cook it all up today!!!!!

I think that is about it!

Yesterday while grocery shopping I purchased powdered milk to use in all my baking because we have been going through so much milk lately.
I also bought a pack of 15 pork chops that was on sale for 6.49 and split it up to freeze for 3 seperate meals. I normally don't do this because it is such a pain.

ALSO...I had my power shut down for 54 hours to save on electricity!! Not really, we had an ice storm shut it down for us.

Elaine .. that is one way to save money on your electric bill!!

I like the powdered milk idea. Great for all the baking we are all doing this time of year!

I haven't thought of using powdered milk, I will have to remember that.

Well yesterday we did some Christmas shopping so it hasn't been to frugal

But if I am not home, the heat gets turned down and we use the fireplace everyday.

Tonight we are going to a catered college graduation party so I don't have to make supper

I have wrapped all gifts and I want you to all know I have not had to buy any new wrapping paper at all this year we had two that were unopen from last year. I thought that was good. Wrapping paper can be expensive. Went to the Genral Dollar store and bought Body Was for $3 and dish sop for $1 and Pledge for $2 and then we bought Alisha girlfriends gift's and she spent $5 on each of them. Oh been using notes from school as scratch paper the back of them. That is all I can think of.

Stan brought home Steaks from work last night .. they fed them Steaks and such for the holidays ... cut them up and made dinner with the left overs (beef stew)! So dinner was under $2 for us.

Then a friend of mine brought us some laguane (splg) and we froze it for later. She makes two batches everytime she makes it and brings us one!

Well Alisha sprang I need treats for tomorrow in Challenge class we are having a party. Great short on money since Jim's check is late from the college for teaching. Racking my brain to see what i could do found some things and I had marshmellows and eagle brand milk and carmels and Rice Krispies so I mad Carmel Rice Krispie balls that saved me money by not having to go out and get any treats for her. I did it even tho I am tired and achy, bones hurt real bad. Not be a great day for me. Long story and i rather not get in to it.

Ate leftovers today!

Shopped the Christmas clearance sales.

Fire in the fireplace.

Rented movies instead of going to the movies!

I haven't been turning the lights on until about 4:00 pm (that is when it starts getting dark here)

umm....I think that is it today.

Ate leftovers today (of course!)

Wore a sweater instead of turning the heat up.

Shopped a sale.

Mostly stayed home so I couldn't spend anything!

Christmas present that Alisha got is very nice but she got two of them so we will use it as a gift for her friend Matt. He got her a gift and we had no idea what to get him until she open this and then it came to us. We will get Alisha something else in place of the present she gave away. That works with us.
I'd love to go shopping for after Christmas sales but I doubt we do that. So we are saving money. Eating what is in the house and there is plenty.

lol, first time being here, no idea why since i'ma lways trying to be frugul, but now i want a freezer!!!! Our fridge/freezer is so tiny we can barely fit a weeks worth of food in it. I told hubby if he deploys out again i WILL purchase a small box freezer because with 2 kids i do not want to do shopping every week alone.

My frugul things i suppose were... our store had Campbells Meals in The Box on Sale- $1.99, brought my .55 coupons with me, doubled them to 1.00- paid .99!!!!! and best part is that when we make meals like that they last 2 nights!

Now if i can only stock up on the huge packs of chicken and beef like you ladies.. LoL

NY is rather cold so hard not to use heat, but at night I make sure the heat is down and we put the boys in them blanket sleepers and use big blankets.

ummm- cant think of anything else. For christmas paper.. LOL- I had bought some items that came packed in YELLOW paper, I drew some on that, added a couple christmas stickers and wrapped many gifts in that! Thats frugul right? or is that down out CHEAP? lol

I did VERY, VERY well today.

Ate leftover soup from last night for lunch
Hung up a bunch of stuff to dry in the bathroom
Talked Bill's dad into GIVING him his car! LOL!

Bill's car broke down and he coasted into his dad's driveway on Thursday. His dad was letting him borrow their extra car until he could take him out and buy him a new one. The plan was that his dad would make the payments until Bill could take over when he finds a "real" job in January. They loaned him a Honda CRV, 3-4 years old with 72,000 miles on it. Bill was fretting about having to make car payments and trying to pay us back. When his dad called today I talked to him about Bill maybe buying this car from him instead of a newone. We talked for a while and his dad decided to give this car to Bill and just buy a new one for his wife instead. So I figure I saved him AT LEAST $5000! (Haven't looked up the blue book value yet.) How's that for a frugal action?!

Missy I LOVE our freezer!!! It cost us about $150 but it has saved me so much more than that!

My frugal actions lately are: Eating leftovers, leftovers, leftovers. I cooked a Turkey on Christmas and have not cooked since. I am cooking tonight..but using the leftover turkey in it!
