You still get your W-3 in the mail Liz? Maybe it is just the Army that has switched over to electronic?? We have our W-2 but we are still waiting on Abby's SS#.

I have to say I LOVE tax time! We do our own using Turbo Tax and have for the past 5 years or so.

Well depending on how much our refund is this year...most of it is going to our move. We have two bills that we are going to catch up. Gavin needs some dental work. Another 2 bills that need to be paid. So after all of that if there is anything left...I need new clothes really really bad! Plus whenever we move there is always something you need for the new place!

Usually Adam takes his to a private accountant for about $30 and I take mine to H&R block and do rapid refund and end up paying like $300...

So this yr I am doing them with H&R Block and doing them online...It's free and I love messing with them myself! I love math...I filed Adam's Thursday, and he is supposed to get $3400 back, but I don't know if he will because of back child support for Devan, so we will have to wait and see....I usually get a bit more than that because I claim 0 and also have $5/wk extra taken out...basically a government savings account. Mine is going towards my bankruptcy and the wedding

I do ours too with Turbo Tax. We just got Billy's W2 yesterday, so maybe I can get busy sometime this weekend.

Haven't decided what we're doing with it yet. We always get quite a lot back because Billy has them deduct too much during the year so we can do something big every March. We need to finish the fence in the yard. (not my idea of fun!) and I think some is going to bills. I have to snag some of it, I want to replace our sliding glass door with French doors in the kitchen. Already priced it at $1200. We'll see!

I got my W-2 yesterday.

I used to do my own, but since we got married, DH has done them. Since he was a financial analyst for 6 years, he's got the brains for it. Last year we used a computer program. It was easy. I think we're going to do the same thign this year. So, we can file online and get our return sooner.

We used turbo tax last year but I think this year I'm gonna go to a taz specialist that my MIL recommended last year, he saves her alot of oney and since I now work from home full time instead of part part time i want to be sure to get all the tax "credits" help whatever so I think this year I'm gonna have him do it then go online and get it back sooner.

Lets see it was suppose to go to pay off the car but we now have a hospital bill that needs to be paid off, then I think I'm gonna pay one credit card to half its balance and we need a new car seat for Adam and I need a scanner or printer for all my mystery jobs, some of them are switching to scanners for their receipts so you can get paid faster...but that will be a business expense next year so no loss there. Then if we can get all those things out of the way and theres some left I may just put the rest on the car, last payment is in Sept I really would like to pay it off sooner, so we can get another car for Brent, oh yeah we also owe $283 to the credit consolidation company so that they can get us caught up on the bills that they held back the first month which I didn't realize until after all was said and done. Since this happened it looks like we have defaulted on our credit cards when we really didn't so much for saving our credit rating they said if we pay that back it will look better on our credit report whatever...all I wanted to do was pay off earlier then we had planned we had never missed a payment or been late and now it looks like we are late

We do it with with H&R Block. Only 30 bucks and they keep all of your info from year to year so all they need are the numbers on the W2!! Easy!! Hopefully this year we get money back

We USUALLY get a nice refund. NOT THIS YEAR!

My dh usually claims single and 9 dependants for the first 3 months of the year so they hardly take any taxes from his check. WELL, this year forgot to change it back until like JULY!!!!! We are gonna owe so much!

We are not filing til April 14th cuz I don't wanna pay!!

STUPID, STUPID, STUPID DH!!!!!

We filed yesterday and should get about 3,100 but we have to pay $500 back on our loan we took out for Tim's Father's funeral. SO after fees and that we will have about 2,600. WE are going to get a used car with the money.

I need a car to get to our homeschooling group meetings it takes me 2 hours by bus and a 2 mile walk.

We haven't gotten any of our W2s yet. I did get the tax form for the interest that we have paid in on the house though.

I think last year Elaine listed an online site called TaxAct.com and I did our taxes with them. I plan on doing the same this year. Two years ago I used H&R online and it was more expensive. We get EIC so I am expecting a big ol return, expecially with 4 kids now!! We hafta pay $2000 back to my parents for the van and then we are going to get a few things done to the house-new paint for the kitchen and master bedroom, 6panel doors for a few rooms (Zachary's room still doesn't even have a door and we finished his room almost a year ago! ) and of course a bunch needs to go into the savings account and I wanna spend a lil bit on ME! Gonna buy some clothes for the kids on clearance for next year as well.
I can't wait to get our taxes back!!! I am having shopping withdrawel since we have been so broke!

We haven't gotten any W2's yet. I'm praying that we get a nice refund because of the Twins, but we'll see!
I really need a new bed, so I think we will get one if there is enough money, if there is anything left it will probably go into savings.

We don't do our own. I used to do my own before I go tmarried, Wasn't that difficult. But we have too many issues. It costs us about $500 to get our personal taxes done. and a couple of grand to get coropoate ones done. THis year will be even more difficuilt because we sold a store and opened 2 new businesses (rental - owning) so those of you be glad that you are getting lots back becasue we are prolly going to owe a few thousand $$. Our accountant was supposed to estimate what we were going ot owe but they let him go last april (after tax season) and our new accountant never did anything with it so we have no idea what we will owe. I'll let ya know when they are done, but I don't even think the corporate ones are done yet.

Well Heather if you got a refund last year you will most certainly get one this year. Everytime we had a kid it went up $500-$1000 at least. From last year we are getting almost $1000 more.

We got $5000 back last year. Mike didn't want the government to keep our money for us so he changed our withholding so now we will probably have to pay.

I make so little and the family is so big (comparatively) that we rarely if ever owe. We will file electronically and use the return on our move to Kentucky.

We finally got all of our w2's and other tax papers from stock and such, we were going to take them to H&R Block on Saturday and file (that's where we've been going forever) but my dad bought turbo tax and we are going to try it out. I'm just afraid that I'll do something wrong and not get the amount of money that I am entitled to

We u sually do Turbo Tax, but DH wants an accountant this year. He feels like they know the short cuts and deductions that we don't know about. Plus, he did those side jobs and no taxes were taken out.
