Are you hoping, if you have a daughter, that one day she will chose to wear your dress?

I had mine preserved and would love it if I have a daughter, if she decided to wear it. It was pretty simple, so she could keep it that way or have embilished if she wants.

Mine is just in the bag it came in from the store, and it is in total darkness so it should be pretty safe. We dont have moths or anything that will have meal on it.

Hhiggs - I would love to see a picture of the dress your grandma made....

I think mine was under $100 to have done. My mom did it for me. You should check around at local dry cleaners, that's where we went.

I had mine cleaned and preserved at the dry cleaners. Mike told me the other day I should sell it on ebay - no way!

Yep, mine is preserved, I'd love it if Olivia (many, many years from now...) would want to wear it. But I also know that she may want to buy one and that would be ok too! It's her day afterall!

I haven't quite made up my mind what I want to do.. I really really want to have it made into a quilt ( think thats what it would be) I've seen some GORGEOUS blankets made out of wedding dresses.. but Matt wants to have it made into a christening gown if we have a little girl.. so I don't know.. It wasn't really fancy but it had some pretty embellishment on it..

I was goign to have mine preserved, but I ended up selling it when money got tight. I really wish I'd kept it, though.

Robyn, that is a good idea. I never heard of making it into a quilt and hadn't thought of the christening gown. What a special thing to do!!

What great ideas!! Mine is in the attic....in a plastic bag....it brings back bad memories but Jessica doesn't know that and if she wants to wear it (when the time comes) she is welcome to.....but I LOVE the idea of making a quilt for her out of it!!!!

Yes. I hope that my daughter will want to wear it or have it remade for herself some day.
