December 26 it will be 2 years for me and Den. But this will be our first anniversary together. Last year he was in Puerto Rico and missed Christmas and our Anniversary. Not a big deal..lots of mililtary wives seem to have their holidays all messed up.

But anyways with it being the day after Christmas, I am going to assume we won't have much money left for our Anniversary. But I want to do something special since it is our first anniversary where we are actually together.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, this might be too expensive, but how about spending a night away? If you can't afford a hotel, you could have a special night at home if you could send Christian to a grandparents house. We've been on vacation during our anniversary several times and it is always nice. Of course we got married in May so that makes it a bit easier

For our first anniversary I bought Rich a watch. I cost me a whole pay check! But he will always have it.
For our other anniversaries we have just gone out for a nice quiet dinner alone. That is what we did this past anniversary. It was nice just to sit together and eat a meal, and talk to each other instead of worrying about Austin.

Well, this anniversary, we didn't have any money. It was right after DH lost his job. So, I got him a littel something. I think it was a book he wanted. He wrote me a LOOONG letter, (He is NOT a letter writer) and told me how much he appreciated me for sticking with him through all we'd been through. And he told me how much he loved me, and all of the little things that he appreciated that I did for him from day to day. It was like, "WOW! He actually noticed." It was really sweet, and I have it in my scrapbook.

I'd agree with having a night alone, if at all possible. Even if you can't affordc a hotel, and it's just to have dinner and a movie alone or something.
