Makes 6 servings
Prep: 40 minutes
Cook: 2 hours

1/4 cup olive oil
1 cup minced onions
1 cup minced carrots
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1 pound lean ground beef
1-1/2 cups dry white wine
1-1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup tomato paste
2 cans (26 oz. each) whole tomatoes in juice
1/2 cup heavy or whipping cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 pound dried spaghetti, cooked according to package directions
1/2 pound ground pork

1. Heat olive oil in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions and carrots; cook, stirring, 5 minutes or until vegetables are softened. Add garlic and cook 15 seconds or until fragrant.
2. Stir in ground beef and pork and cook until meat is brown. Add wine and cook until almost evaporated. Add milk and simmer 15 minutes.
3. Stir in tomatoes and tomato paste; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer 2 hours, stirring to break up tomatoes with a spoon.
4. Stir in heavy cream, parsley, salt, and pepper. Toss half sauce with hot pasta in large serving bowl. (Cover and refrigerate remaining sauce for another use.) Makes 6 servings.
