Thanks everyone for coming and making the scrapbooking chat a huge success!

Here's a few ideas from the chat:

For beginning crafters -
Just start from the picture and work from there. Look at the pic and get ideas of what might be cool to surround it with. Scrapbooking doesn't take a lot of special skills, if you colored, glued and used sissors as a child, you can do it. Just be sure to use acid free supplies. You can get lots of inexpensive stuff at the dollar store or Walmart.

Roxanna posted several great sites with sample layouts and supplies. She also had several great ideas on different things to use as a scrapbook like a rolodex for a flip desktop scrapbook so you can enjoy your scrapbook at work. (I plan to make one of these for my MIL for Mother's day. She's at work more than she's at home anyway. )

Here are some ideas for your children while you are scrapbooking:

* Give them their own scrapbooking supplies and allow them to scrap while you are.

* Try to scrap when they are asleep or not at home.

* Go to a scrapbooking party or arrange a scraping date with a friend.

There are tons of different things you can use for scrapbooking to make your pages more interesting like die cuts, shakers (I'll have to have Roxanna explain that one to you), novelity buttons, etc.

You can look up lots of layouts on the internet and buy books, but personally, I think your scrapbook should be a reflection of you and your family.

And most importantly, have fun!
