Thanks to mamadoodle for a great topic suggestion!

Most new parents suffer from sleep deprivation, at least in the first few months. What silly things have you done while half asleep?

After a particularly rough night, I personally poured formula into my daughter's Fruity Pebbles and almost poured whole milk into my son's bottle.

Another argument for breastfeeding, I guess!

Can't wait to read the other funny stories!

I can't wait to hear everyone's stories! In case you missed my other post (in the postpartum thread), here are most sleep-deprived moments...

- used Balmex for shampoo
- put the ice cream in the pantry

I have a few that I remember but I know I have a lot more.

Almost put formula in my coffe maker
I have put things that belong in the frig in the cupboard and vice versa.
When I was using Playtex bottles I would forget to put the liner in.

I'm sure that I have done more but who can remember them all being that it seems to happen so often for a while.

The fridge/pantry thing seems like a common problem. I can remember doing that a few times, although I don't specifically remember what the object was.

I've also burnt dinner, just because I sat down and vegged out.

I've tried washing my hair with body soap -- which doesn't sound nearly as bad as Balmex!

I'll think of a few more as I go. I put this on the homepage as the question of the week, so I can't wait to hear what else folks have done!

Dawn your burning dinner reminded me of another one. I had just put popcorn in the microwave and somehow I totally forgot about it until the fire alarm started. After that every time you opened the microwave or used it it smelled like cigarette smoke so we had to go out and get a new one. This one has a popcorn button-my husband made sure of that.

momof3girls, a popcorn button? My microwave is about 6 years old, so I guess I'm out of touch, but what is a popcorn button ?

It automatically sets the time for the size of the bag of popcorn. It works pretty good too because I only have about 10-15 seeds left in the bag when it is done.

I just thought of another one....wearing 2 different shoes. I actually did this several times. Once I find a pair of shoes I like, I tend to buy several pairs in different colors. This can be a problem when dressing in a sleep deprived state . The most embarrassing was when I wore 2 different shoes to a well-child check and didn't even realize it until the nurse said something.
