When you feel up to it, go out to dinner. Newborns can and will sleep through just about anything, so bring your baby along. Carry a blanket or shawl for discreet nursing.

Has this person ever had a nursing newborn? If I tried to go out to eat right now, the entire meal would be spent trying to lean forward enough that I don't drop food on Brenna while I'm nursing or with her up on my shoulder being bounced and patted on the back... there would be very little eating involved. I say have dh pick up some good take out and eat in the comfort of your own home.

I'd love to be the ideal mother but I'm too busy raising my kids.

When Christian came home from the hospital, we could go out. But Christian was on such a strict schedule from the hospital that as long as we fed him right before we left and timed it so we were back in 2 hours or at least out of the resturant he would rest in his seat--well sleep deeply is what he did...LOL Kel on the other hand would have been demanding to be held.

All of my kids during the first few months were breastfed on demand and wanted to nurse constantly. It wasn't until they were around 3 or 4 months old that they would sleep for any decent period between feedings.

My kids were always hungry when I sat down to eat. I don't remeber having a warm meal when they were little.

Ummm... yeah... I really wonder sometimes who writes these things.

I love these so called "experts" who write about childbirth, parenting, child development... whatever. And they've never had a kid themselves.
