I don't know why, but I just can't seem to get in the Christmas spirit this year. I have gifts for Chris and the kids, the In-Laws and both Grandmas (just need the gift cards and I'm done), but I could care LESS about putting up the tree, mailing Christmas cards and decorating. I pretty much just want to curl up in a hole and hide. I am forcing myself to participate in the cookie exchange and the Secret Santa at work, but I just feel like a massive GRINCH this year. HELP ME SNAP OUT OF IT!! I'm really trying to make myself celebrate for the kids, but my heart isn't in it this year. I guess it's just the first year of not having either of my parents around for the holidays. It's hard no matter how old you are.

Sorry for whining..... Just wanted to let ya all know I'm still around even if I'm not responding to holiday posts.

Kim

Thanks everyone....

You know, I think all you can do is your best. It's okay to feel however you feel, and I would expect those closest to you to understand. I cannot even imagine how you are feeling this Christmas.

I'm so sorry Kim. It is hard losing a parent and then facing the holidays. To tell you the truth, if it weren't for the excitement of being in a new house, I would probably not have put up a tree or anything. I know I had a hard time deciding what to do for Christmas this year and just forced myself to decide to go to Alabama for a few days. I don't think the fact that my mom is gone has really hit me yet. I think it will hit when I'm not going to my parents house on Christmas morning.

Just take the time to grieve. Keep Christmas simple this year. The other girls here are right.

I wish I was there to give you a real
