My hybiscus is dying and I am so bummed. MIL says I gave it too much water...

I don't know too much about hibiscus. I love them. I think they're really pretty, but I've never had one.

My house plants are not doing so good, either. I neglected giving them enough water, plus they're close to a heater, so I think that's not helping. I need to trim them back and also move them.

I never had a hibiscus. All I have it orchids which I thought were dying but came back. Try trimming it back some maybe and keep an eye on the water.

I don't know a lot about Hibiscus but you can usually tell if you are watering too much because the leaves start to get yellow and thin.
