In 1995, pesticide use in this country reached an all-time high of 1.2 billions pounds.

There are simple steps you can take every day to change that figure: Support organic farmers. Buy organic produce. Grow an organic garden.

If you garden and have been using conventional pesticides and/or chemical fertilizers, it will take up to three years for your "organic" garden to live up to its name. If you are new to gardening, going organic is a great way to intiate yourself and your land.

I buy mostly organic produce as well. Having health issues really makes you wonder how much of our problems are caused us using things like pesticides and other chemicals.

So True, With Mike we've just decided that it's better to buy as much as we can organic. Luckily there's a place near by that sells everything organic. I can even order produce by the case to make baby food with and I get a 10% discount

Here's a great list of the best/worst NON-organics to buy. I shudder to ever buy a non-organic peach, but I don't bother paying extra for organic onions now.
