how the heck can i get rid of the darned things....I went to pull a dead perineal out of my garden adn when I did the ground came alive with the darned things!!!!! Now i know why it is dead If I plant anything else in there (like i was going to) they will be killed too...so now all the plants I bought today will have to wait before I plant them...

any ideas on how i can get rid of them??? Since its in my front yard the dog can't get in there, and I can keep liz out of it....so I am open to ANY suggestions!!

Michele, I have put Ant Killer granuales out, just the sprinkle on type, but honestly, I think that the ants just relocate They are gone from the spot where I 'sprinkled' the Ant Killer, but they show up in another spot in the yard. I have never paid a lot of money for Ant Killer, but the other day I was in WalMart and I saw some in the Garden Center that was $28.00 for a small bag! I wonder if it would REALLY work, since its so expensive

Anyway, I'll try doing some research and let you know what I find.

OMGoodness Michele, here is a link that has several suggestions...everything from grits to sugar and borax. These people say that all these worked. I'm going to try one or two of these ideas myself.

Let us know if what you try and if it works

I know that one of the ant killers, and of course I can't think of the name since your asking has some sort of stuff you put on the entire yard, so that the ants do not relocate, but die. I have been telling DH to get it, but since he doesn't listen, our ants leave one pile and just go build another that is poison free.

I have tried boiling hot water....did it 3 times and there are still a bunch of them there

I read somewhere else that you can try:

1) Coffee grounds.....and when the ants reappear just use more coffee grounds.....and hey its good for your garden too

2) COrnmeal....they eat it and it expands in their stomachs...making them explode (eewwwww)
