With the kids' skin that is. I have had such a hard time with it lately, all they do is dig at themselves, and it looks pitiful. Last night Rach fell asleep on the couch, and woke up about 11; we were already in bed but I hadn't fallen asleep yet, so I went and brought her to bed. SHe immediately started scratching her feet, and like I told Dawn earlier, it sounds like a hog eating corn. I couldn't stand it so I got up and ran her a bath. She threw the biggest fit b/c I made her get in, then got mad b/c I made her get out. Then I put the Protopic and Vaselien on her and rocked her a bit. I asked her if she wanted to ask Jesus to take away the itch and she said "no". Then I asked if she wanted me to and she said "yes" So I started praying, and after I was finished we went back to bed. A few minutes later she was scratching again, and all I could do was lay there and pray and cry. I think I need to ask their Ped about starting them both on a steroid, that would just be long enough to clear it up (if it even works) then using something else to maintain it. I just don't know what else to do for them! I hate that we're so poor; I wish I could just go out and buy something OTC to try and help. I've even thought about getting a referral to a dermatologist (they have Medicaid so we have to get referrals).

The only thing that helped the boys' outbreak was baths every other day (instead of everyday), constantly applying Eucrin (sp?) lotion and then using the Elidel twice a day. (the steriod creme) I hope you find relief soon...

Have you tried the Cortisone Spray. It BURNS really bad but it helps alot. I put it on Will When he is sleeping
Our routine is an oatmeal bath
Aveno (Generic Walmart) Lotion
When he is asleep we spray with the CORTISONE 10 SPRAY
And then lotion him before getting dressed in the morning and then 3-4 times during the day and if he will let me spray again in the afternoon. 3-4 days with this routine and his is better

I am a proud wife to a hard working man Russ
and I have two wonderful kids Hannah and Will!
