I'm gonna quit work...as in today. I talked to my boss about cutting my hours back quite a bit and maybe cutting a day out...well, he cut my back a total of 3 hours this week. I'm pretty pissed about it. Truth be told, I don't really have to work anymore anyways, and I ache so much while I'm there and it's wearing me out. I know it's a normal pregnancy thing, but with 3 kids at home I don't have time to feel bad all the time. I'm supposed to work tonight, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday. I'm thinking I may just not show up tonight. Jerm thinks I should try to work most of the week but I just don't feel like it, and I know that would probably be the ideal thing to do.

Hate to say it, but I think Jerm is right. When you go in tonight, tell the boss it's just not going to work out, you'll work the rest of the posted schedule, and be done with it.

I say, call in sick tonight, and then work the rest of the week if you can.

I guess I'm not too worried about it, because it's a local fast food joint. It's a pretty good job for the most part, but let's be honest, homeschooling Rach and now Issac this fall it's not like I'll ever have time to get another job anyways with 4 kids. Being pregnant just makes me mean because I'm weaning off my Paxil

As a "local fast food" place I agree that you should finish off your scheduled shifts. I don't think it matters if your ever gonna work again or anytime soon.

As an aching mom of little ones at home I completly understand where you are coming from (well except the pregnant aches part )

I think you should do what YOU can live with. Personally I don't think I could stiff a place of employment.

I think it is only common courtesy to work a two-week notice or whatever the current posted schedule. However, if you are feeling that bad, take a night off first. It's not like you have to worry about losing your job if you are going to quit anyway! LOL!

I would have called off last night and then tried to work out the rest of the sched. as well. There is no way I would have gone to work last night feeling frustrated and angry... it would have made for a horrid night, but maybe after a day off you would feel better about it.

Exactly. Just finish what you are committed to & that's that. Personally, no matter how mad I have been at a place of employment, I have always given 2 wks notice. Just because they are being boneheads (decreasing the hrs) doesn't mean you have to be. Exercising PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY makes you the better person, doesn't burn your bridges and reflects well on you when you do decide to go back to work. I know you don't plan on going back to work, but never say never. We don't know what the future may bring.

Good luck!
