For Maddie's birthday we are going to have a wide range of kids. From 12 to 8 months old! Boys and girls. How do I handle doing party favors?

We do something different every year. One year we had a Barbie themed party so I ordered a bunch of McDonald's happy meal barbies off ebay to use as the main favor and then put little lipsticks and nail polishes in each bag too. We made necklaces using barbie figurine charms and beads so they go to take those home too.

For toddlers maybe you could give out sippy cups filled with a bag of fruit snacks and a small toy
or you could pass out coloring books with small packs of crayons

We are doing a water party. I have a nice sized kid pool and just got a slip and slide. I thought I could get a bunch of squirt guns...but not sure what else?

Meagan - check out...
www.iparty.com

They have some good ideas.
I clicked on the "barbeque" theme and they had Inflatable fish, beach balls... it might help with a few ideas.

I like the squirt gun idea.

I went to the dollar store. For candy I bought candy necklaces for the girls, and nerd sticks for the boys. Since we had a water party, I bought 2 pcks of sunglasses from Target, got waterguns, swirly straws. Also bought the bags there, 20 for $1.00. The dollar store has all kinds of little toys that would be great for that age range.

For a water party, I think squirt guns are great and the bubbles would go over well, too. That's probably all I would do for that.

I got stuff for goodie bags at the dollar store too. Alexander's having a pirate party and we're doing a treasure hunt where the kids will find the treasure and it will be their goodie bags. I got candy necklaces, braclets, rings and lipstick for the girls and some sports shaped candies for the boys. Plus we're getting some pirate stickers and eyepatches for everyone.

We are doing bigger goodie bags than usual because my SIL found the stickers and eyepatches at a party store for real cheap. Otherwise, they'd just be getting the candy I found at the dollar store. And the packs I found had two necklaces, two braclets, two rings and two lipsticks - all individually wrapped - so I only had to get two since they'll be only four girls. Same thing with the boy's candy. So I came out really cheap there - only $4 for a lot of candy!!
