I thought about giving out Elmo gummy snacks and an Elmo ring, but I can't think of anything else that could be inexpensive.

Kids will range from 19 months-6years old.

Do I really have to give out favors?

you don't have to, but it keeps them busy if you give it to them when they first come in

Here's what I had in rhyne's party bags:

model clay (gift size pakages)
bead necklace
sucker
crayons
stickers
sunglasses

you could put a balloon in there for when they go home, and bubbles are a big hit too.

Balloons are awesome party favors. Just get one per kid and get party hats and maybe the blower thingys and you should be set!

I tend to go overboard where parties and favors are concerned...

I've done it both ways. Some people expect them but that doesn't mean you have to give them.

For Al's birthday coming up, we're doing a pinata and whatever they get out of it is what they get. I'm not doing any goodie bags this time.

Well, I have at the kids' parties just b/c I think it's fun! But don't feel like you have to if you really can't afford it.

What other things that you can think of to give out that goes along with Elmo?

My MIL just gave me some blow thingys...I will have those set out by each child's plate.

I don't really know much about Elmo as far as watching the show....what types of things does Elmo do on the show? How about a pkg of refrig magnets and give each child the letters that make their first and last initial? Or some other type of letter, nothing dangerous or anything, but expose them to the alphabet at the same time

Good idea Sheila!!

Well, this is what I have thought about so far.
Put in a bag for each child: An Elmo ring, a pack of Elmo fruit snacks and a bannana that contains powder fine smartties-you know that candy that is in a roll-and since bannanas are Elmo's favorite fruit...I don't know of many kids that likes real bannanas.

Let me ask you this...if you kind of didn't have the money to get a lot...what would you get if anything? I think I can afford $5.00...that is the total of everything I have mentioned.
