Sit back and relax - this is a long one.
I got a call from the neurologist yesterday - the lesions they found in March are still on my brain. No change. Though it would have been better if the lesions had shrunk or disappeared, I'm taking "no change" as a good thing. After all, they could have gotten worse, right? So that's one less thing to worry about, IMO.
The last few nights have just been weird. Last night, I could NOT get to sleep. At 3:30 this morning, I decided to try and go to bed - ended up laying there wide awake until nearly 4:30. Every night for the last week, I've just been restless, so I stay up late, so DH can get a good night's sleep before work, and I get up when he leaves for work each day. All this without the aid of caffeine, too. If we haven't packed our sun-tea jar yet, I'm hoping to make a jar of green tea for sipping during the day - I love tea, but it's just too bloody hot for hot tea, you know?
We're packing like mad. I need to call a carpet cleaner to do the carpets upstairs after everything's been moved out of there, probably the last week of August (we have to be done by the 31st). Already had a chimney sweep out, so that's done. Monday morning we go pick up the keys for the new place, and do an initial walkthough (gotta make sure to charge up the camera for that - I want pics of everything, just in case). We've got movers scheduled for Thursday of next week, to move the piano and a few pieces of the larger furniture that would be hard for us to move on our own. I'm going to be getting one heck of a workout in the next few weeks, that's for sure!
Tomorrow I'm going to pack up as much of the kitchen as possible. I told DH we're going to "camping kitchen" - one set of dishes, a pot, a pan, a few utensils, and cooking essentials like measuring cup, etc. Everything else, I'm packing up. We won't be eating gourmet fare, but we'll be able to eat something other than take-out (and I've got extra paper plates we can use, too).
DS's tummy has been really bothering him the last couple of days. Based on his description of things, I thought he might have a bladder infection - very achy and sore in his lower abdomen, and going to the bathroom (either #1 or #2, usually both) would help (but he'd scream and cry the entire time). I took him to the ped today, and she examined him, said everything felt normal, but had him pee in a cup. She asked him if he could, and he got the most horrified look on his face, like, "Right here? Right now?"
We explained he could go into a bathroom and do it, and I went with him. Afterward, he told me that the whole experience was "disturbing", both the peeing in the cup, and me having to be in there with him. Guess that means he's growing up, right?
And I don't know what sort of critter he brought in from playing in the sprinkler yesterday, but it ate him alive overnight. He's got like 20 bug bites. I asked the ped about them, and she thinks maybe he's got a few spider bites on his leg, and the other welts aren't actually bites, but a reaction to the bites on his leg. So he gets anti-itch cream every few hours, and Benadryl every 4-6 hours, for a few days. And I threw all his bedding into a hot water wash this morning, so hopefully, whatever it is, is now dead, and/or left the building.
Well, I ought to try and get something accomplished today before bed, so I'll close for now.
to you if you made it all the way through.
