I've never made peas before but for some odd reason (probably pregnancy) they sound really good right now.
I bought a can of sweet peas and I need to know what to do with them? Just plop them in a pot and heat up or should I add something to them?

I usually get the frozen, I think they taste better. In addition, I like to add a little bacon or onion sometimes.

I always drain the liquid first, then add a little pat of butter/margarine and some salt & pepper. Yum! They do sound good!

Oh, I know you said you had a *can* of peas, but I gotta share this totally awesome recipe for *frozen* peas:

1 bag frozen peas
1 small onion - sliced VERY thin (a mandolin works great here)
1 TBSP olive oil
1 beef boullion cube

Heat up the olive oil in a pot. Saute onions until slightly browned -- add beef boullion. Let the onions carmelize and olive oil soak up all the boullion and continue sauteing for a couple minutes (careful not to burn the boullion). Add bag of fozen peas, stir to loosen up any browned bits, cover for a couple minutes on low to medium heat until desired doneness. Enjoy!

I love canned peas, especially LeSeurs early peas. I drain some water and put in butter, salt and pepper. LOVE THEM! I have a can in the cabinet, might be having some tonight with chicken. Good idea Elaine!

I just did the butter, salt, & pepper thing and they were pretty good. Maybe I'll try frozen next time. I hated peas as a child.

I hate frozen peas, because they are so crispy, it is like they pop when you eat them. I love the canned better because they are soft.
