If you were in California you would probably be calling my office. I work for Workers compensation insurance. I'm in the Rehab department. So once the Dr says the injured person will never be able to return to ther old employment we offer them training. And I provide that.

I'm a Registered Nurse in a Large teaching hospital in Rockford, IL. That means I get to mess with Resident's minds, I mean help TRAIN them!

My specialty is ICCU, which means that I work with Cardiac Intensive Care and I work a general ICU. Both are requirements of my overall unit.

I own Dairy Queen (well along with my hubby )

I specialize in the Children's Hospital Fundraising, Donations, customer issues (when they are minor - Kev deals with the major ones) and right now I am making cake blanks at one location.

But I can do most anything!

Oh, wow, Lupe - you may know my mother. She works for Rehab here in Sacramento. She used to do the diversity training, among other things. Now she's Info System Support, I think. Short blonde lady named Rosi. PM me!

I currently work for Caltrans (California Department of Transportation). I maintain a database system that contains information on every structure on the California highway system, and helps ensure that extra large vehicles and loads can navigate the roads safely.

But, in about 2 1/2 weeks, that all goes away.

I work for a huge aerospace company as an Office Administrator. I set up travel arrangements for the department I support and keep track of their training that they do. I set up meetings for them too (find conference rooms, get a teleconference number and set up videoconferencing meetings). I sometimes support off site meetings. I order office supplies.

For my night time/weekend job I clean out doggie cages and doggie cottages in the pet hotel/boarding area I'll probably get to work with doggy daycamp during the weekends. Not sure yet. If I get to do that then I'll be supervising a group of dogs and get to play with them

I am a special education teacher for learning disabled/behaviorally disorded students. I work at the high school level. My students live in a residential treatment center for behavioral disordered kids (DCFS or Court places them there, or sometimes their parents for private placement). My main classroom is in the public high school where my students are mainstreamed into the district as a last step before leaving the treatment center. However, the last 2 years I have had to work at the school on campus at the treatment center part-time because I did not have enough students at the public school.

My classes are small, of course, and I have an aide to help. Within the 6 or 7 class times (or 5 class times if I am traveling between 2 schools) a day that I actually teach (I'm not counting lunch or plan period), it is not uncommon for me to teach 10-13 different subjects/classes daily. This means that I often have several different classes in the same time frame. I teach everything from all English, all math, literature, sciences, history, geography, art, careers, vocational ed, foods, etc. I have taught everything except Spanish!

I am going into such detail about my job because it is different than most teacher's. (Oh, and did I mention that I also coordinate with the teacher's on campus and with the teacher's at the public high school, so that my students can enter regular classes when needed. I probably talk to 65% of the teachers at the high school at least 3 times a week just to check up on my students, etc. Oh, yes, and the paperwork is just horrible. )

I have enjoyed having my summer off, but am now getting into the back to school mode (I only have about 3 more weeks before I go back full time, but i am expecting a phone call within a week to go in and work on student schedules).
I really do have a unique job.

You all have wonderful jobs. Becky so you are the one that keeps hounding me. Andrea did not know that there was a Safeway store in your area, they have pretty much faded away here. Steph I use to work at Children Square where I live and I worked with the kids in the Day care that were court ordered also, we did have a few of them that lived in the cottages, that is what we call them and then my friend taught school like you do. I enjoyed reading this post.

I'm the Assistant Manager at a BP Petrol Station

I do the ordering, pay the invoices, arrange the rosters and pay the wages. I train the staff and tell them all what to do

I also stocktake, a lot

For an hour and a half to two hours in the morning I also try and spend some time making nice with the customers, having their coffee already made as they come to the counter, talking them into that muffin or danish and generally trying to make their mornings brighter.

Plus talking to reps, arranging credits for out of date stock etc, and deal with the 50 things a day that the staff seem to need someone to ask about/talk to with.

Well, do you want the official title or what I REALLY do all day?

I used to teach.... But since I moved here, I am HR assistant/secretary/receptionist/shipping clerk/everything else nobody else wants to do. My company builds diesel engines. The majority of them go to AM General, which is our parent company. They build Hummers and Humvees. (Not the new H2's, but for the military ones and H1's).
