Can you believe there are a few things I forgot! I had to restock since we went on our trip. I also have:

A spoon
bibs
2 jars of babyfood
and a car seat safety manual.

I think my diaper bag is a little home away from home! We also have a "car" toys that stay in the car for her to play with.

I do not even use a diaper bag. I Throw whatever we need in my purse or the bottom of the stroller. When Cori was a baby, I had everything packed in there.

I usually pack a small one. I leave diapers and wipes in the car. So usually food for Justin, bottles, bib, spoon, diaper cloth. I am always missing something.

Here's my thinking behind all the items that are "weird" in my diaper bag:

Hand sanitizer - I like to wash my hands after changing her and before we eat and sometimes there is no restroom available or it's inconvient.

2 kinds of suntan lotion - you're supposed to use something different for the face than the rest of the body. Plus if we take a spur of the moment trip, it's good to have along.

baby aspirin and stomach meds - learned the hard way when I forgot them and she all over me in a restraunt and I had to buy a new shirt.

Baby food and cookies, spoon, bibs - cookies are for the car. The baby food is for restraunts we might go to that don't serve food she can have or if they take their time delivering our food. It's better to be prepared than to have a kid screaming because she's hungry.

First aid kit - that's for me. I'm accident prone.

2 changes of clean clothes - my kid can go through clothes. Also, the weather has been so weird, I keep a warm set and a cool set depending on the weather.

Kleenex - those are for me. I have allergies.

Bottle of water - my kid is allergic to milk and can't drink out of a regular glass yet.

Toys, coloring books, crayons - for places that are not kid friendly and boring.

Leash and harness - for Walmart. I'm scared she'll get away from me and something could happen to her.

My motto is be prepared for any contiengent. And I pretty much am, I think. My overstuffed diaper bag has saved us quite a few public meltdowns. Unfortunately, it's also really heavy.
