I was gonna say "salt 'em", but I don't think that's good for the grass. Not sure. Some kind of grub killer, probably. You could call a home and garden center and they'd probably be able to tell you what they recommend for your area.

| teacherinct | I just reread what you were asking (duh!). I was talking about grubs and you were asking about slugs. Well, the grub stuff is Grubex or Milkyspore if you ever need it. Hehehe. And for slugs, yeah, salt will kill them but not on your lawn. My inlaws used to use the shallow plates of beer which will also kill them. |

You can put a small dish (like a mayo jar lid) with beer out, and the slugs will drown themselves in it.

Won't salt kill the lawn? We use Grubex and something called polyspore (that might not be the exact name but ask at a good lawn care center and they'll know what it is). The Grubex is every year application and the spore stuff is three years I think. We had a big problem with grubs at our old house--not so much the grubs but the animals that dug up the yard to eat them. Totally gross. |
