BeccaSueBoo I started working as a cashier at the grocery store where he was working. The girl training me informed me he had a cute butt and made him turn around so I could see! *lol* It took a few months to win him over...I was dating a guy at the time, plus I was smoking, and he made me stop before he'd go out with me

Shona We met while he was in the middle of a drug deal

We were both working at Outback Steakhouse. He was a line cook and I had just started training there as a server. I was leaving from one of my training shifts nad my trainer and George were standing right outside the door in the back. George held the door open for me and Jeff introduced us. I stopped a moment to talk and everyone got real quiet and it was really uncomfortable and I left. Later I was told they were discussing a bag of pot. That was.. September of 97. A couple of weeks later his best friend invited me over. George is convinced Billy wanted me for himself, but I never thought so. I went over a few times and asked him to walk me to my car. He did, I hugged him and then he kissed me. We didn't make things official until the first week of November. He got Extremely jealous when I returned from a Halloween trip with a tattoo. In January or Feb of 98 he told me he loved me. ( after I had told him not to fall in love with me). Then in March I really fell in love with him when he spent the night with me in my mother's hospital room. Talked about marriage that summer. He proposed August 26, 1998. I found out two weeks later I was pregnant with Duncan. We were married in November of 98 and 5 kids and 8.5 yrs later.. here we are.
And everyone he worked with swore we got married because I was pregnant. HA!

AndreaB I met Dh for the first time on a party road trip to Calgary, i was introduce to him and his wife by a mutual friend. him and his wife were moving to my hometown for a job prospect and going to live in my friends basement for the first couple of months until they got on their feet. Well, she never moved, she went home to her parents instead and he turned single.... he was always a flirt with me but it was all in fun cuz he was save cuz he was married.

then the marriage ended. and he started pursuing me, he was not the kind of guy that i had ever looked for or dated. i was actually annoyed that he kept showing up when i was out on party trips with bands and stuff. i used to make up any excuse not to be alone with him.

i still don't know what changed but eventually i gave up and let my wall down and discovered what a wonderful man he could be. oh, timeline here? i met him in september we got together in november 94 i think.. it felt like forever though. he moved into my house the next spring in 95, we were married in 97. our ten year anniversary is coming up soon!

Spaggie Robyn, I'm with you - we did things backwards too!

Rick and I had both gone to a friend's house to play D&D (May 1992). I had had dinner with this friend and a few others the night before and met his younger brother, Scott. So during the game, Scott and I were flirting like crazy. Rick was being such and a$$ that day. During a break, I asked him if was always and a$$hole, or was it all for my benefit. Without batting an eye he said "No, I treat everyone like sh!t!" I laughed so hard I nearly pee'd myself! Still didn't like him much, but at least he had a sense of humor.

His brother and I dated for several months (not really dated, just kinda went out now and again - I had just recently gotten divorced). Then one day I get a phone call from Rick (he was at work) asking me to have lunch with him (March 1993). That's when he tells me his brother is saying some pretty crummy things about me to our group of friends (yeah, my BIL was a jerk back then). I get home from lunch with Rick and an hour later 2 dozen long stemmed red roses are delivered to me. the card read (Sorry my brother is an a$$. Wanna be friends?"

We starting dating "officially" in July 1993. I didn't really want to date him because he wasn't "my type", but he talked me into it. 5 months later I got pregnant with Drew. He asked me to marry him, I said no. But we did move in together about a month before he was born. The day Drew was born, he asked again. Still no. On our 1 year date anniversary - nope, still don't want to get married. 2 year date anniversary, he asked again and I finally said yes. He didn't have a ring cause he didn't expect me to say yes! At this point I had known him 4 years (dated for 3). We got married the following year (July 1997) and Drew turned 3 just 1 month later. Ally came along 4 1/2 years later.

In 2 months we will celebrate out 10 year anniversary! Now I can't imagine why I waited so long to marry him. He said he knew the day he met me he was going to marry me (yeah, the day I called him names!)

Robyn Matt and I met on mIRC chat on December 20th 1998 and we would chat every now and again. He was in college at Kent State (about 110 miles from me)
On Jan. 22 1999 (a few weeks after we started chatting) he said that he was home for the weekend (which is like 10 miles from my mom and dads house) it was like 11:30 at night and we were chatting and I told him to come over. My friend Joanna and I were just hanging out, and He showed up about 30 minutes later. Joanna left around 2am (because she knew what my intentions were ) hahaha Unfortunatly Matt sat on the couch and I sat in the recliner and he didn't touch me in the least.
He ended up leaving around 5am.
The next day he came back over (which was a Sunday) and we hung out for a bit and then he had to go back to scool. I walked him out to his car and he kissed me.
I still remember the butterflies I had. I felt like I was floating. I had never felt like that before when anyone had kissed me.

October 99 I got pregnant with Austin
Engaged April 15 2000
Austin born July 12 2000
Married September 22 2001
Bought our house June 18 2003
Dylan came along April 2004.

We do things a little backwards

tailwaggers We met through a friend Memorial Day 1995. He invited me over for dinner that Thursday night--he cooked for a group of friends. Then our first actual date was that Saturday night, June 3. We got engaged in December 1995, and were married in Las Vegas on April 27, 1996.

Zyrilia We were involved in a heated argument on a local BBS (before the Internet, these were boards that you dialed into directly). At some point, the SysOp (the person running the system) commented "Wouldn't they make a cute couple?" Not long after that, we met at a group function, and started seeing each other a bit. I was still in a long-term relationship, but that eventually ended, and I started dating DH exclusively. On the 7-year anniversary of our first meeting, DH proposed. Nearly a year later (Nov 1995) we were married. Gosh, that seems like a long time ago.

TammyB We moved pretty quick too. We met at an anniversary party for his grandparents. His gramma and my gramma had been best friends from the time they were five years old until my gramma passed away in ' 03. my mom and his gramma kept in touch and his gramma invited us to the party. I didn't want to go, cuz I thought it would be so boring and was gonna take the boys to the park instead. But it was raining so i figured going to the party would be more fun than sitting home with two bored toddlers so we went. Eric was actually planning to skip the party too, so he could work, but the rain cancelled that. His two cousins were also there and the two of them were hitting on me big time. What little flirting Eric done was done blushing and stuttering ( so cute it was lol) . He was the only one of the three who did not ask for my number, and he was the only one who got it.Less than a month later we were moved in and , even with the ups and downs, life has never been better.....

Jannie We were set up on a blind date and 2 week later he proposed. 6 months later married. 16 years this Sept is history.

paijj The very abridged version:
He was the boy next door . Actually across the street, but close enough. I had a huge crush on his best friend who invited me to hang out with them(DH, DH's girlfriend, and DH's 2 guy friends). Then DH's girlfriend went off to collage(they broke up because she wanted to be able to see other people) and the best friend went into the army and me and Shawn started hanging out, we became friends-with-benefits about 4 months after we met, and stayed that way on and off for 3 years, then moved in together and lived together for 3 years then got married in 1997. This year will be our 10 year anniversary in September.

melizerd umm This is a funny story really I was a senior in high school. I was dating and then briefly engaged to Mike's best friend Brandon. I met Mike for the first time on New Year's Eve from 99 to 00 at a party. He was blind drunk on the floor and I kept trying to show him my ring.

Fast forward a few months, Brandon starts getting weird and possessive about me hanging out with the guys even if he's around. Brandon starts saying how I shouldn't be going out there without him because someone is going to slip something into my drink (these were his supposed best friends). Mike and I did NOT get along for probably about 6 months. He even made me cry in a restaurant once.

Well the weirder Brandon got the more I just hung out and talked with Mike. I still smoked at that time so Mike would hang outside with me while I had a cigarette. We started to become really good friends and we'd meet for dinner once and awhile.

Well one night Mike told me he was in love with me in the parking lot of Culver's. I told him to F off and didn't speak with him for a month. In retrospect it was because I already had feelings for my "best friend". In that month Brandon and I broke up because he was being so possessive and he started lying to me about where he was.

Mike and I officially started dating in April 01 we got engaged and moved in together in Aug 01 and were married in March 02.

Our friends STILL don't believe there wasn't something going on while I was dating Brandon but there really wasn't. I guess it was obvious to everyone but us.
