Christina K Growth spurts can sometimes be another cause of sleep regressions, usually taking place around 4, 6 and 8 months. If the baby is waking up in the night and wants to eat before returning to sleep, this can be the answer. In this case, the best thing to do is try to feed the baby more during the day, until he begins to readjust his eating and sleeping cycles once more.

Asiancracker Yea he was up all day yesterday, he sleeps very well at night though which is a good thing. Thanks for the advice ladies. I was about to call the doctor just to make sure he was ok, but knowing them I would have to go in and sit around and wait for hours and that would make for one unhappy baby.

Grace Tammy is right. Both my girls were like this as babies too. It seems like the first three months is all growth spurt. I took to wearing a bra with pads at all times with my oldest.

tailwaggers It's okay. He's a hungry boy! He is probably having a growth spurt. Just make sure you drink a lot of water and make sure to eat. You have to take care of yourself.
I remember these days with Emily (didn't breastfeed Travis), and I promise it gets better and easier. I know it's so hard right now with no sleep, and I so wish I could help you somehow rather than offering words of encouragement.
Sleep when Jerren sleeps, don't worry about the laundry or the house, rest, drink water, eat, and do the other stuff when you can. Right now, rest and taking care of yourself and him are most important.

Zyrilia Yep, I remember those days. He'd start crying, and it was like someone turned on a faucet in my shirt.

Zyrilia Could be a growth spurt. Could just be he's hungry.

Your supply will increase the more he demands it. To that end, be sure and keep yourself well-fed and hydrated, too.

Asiancracker good good, I did check him on a scale yesterday, and he grained a pound.

I was thinking about checking the LLL since they have meetings right by our house at the heb plus every 3rd tuesday. I might check it out next week just incase

Shona It actually sounds fairly normal to me, compared to my kids. If you're that he's not getting enough to eat, visit a Lactation consultant. Or grab a scale. Weight him before feeding and then again after and then call a LC. But more than likely he is just fine.

Asiancracker Jerren was up for 6 hours straight yesterday and so far has been up for about 3 hours now. Is this normal? He slept through the night pretty well so it doesn't bother me, he seems to be wanting to eat eat eat and the only way I can clam him is to let him nurse. He is a boobie man what can I say LOL. I feel like my body can't keep up with the nursing every few min to every hour. I don't really want to feed him formula to much because I would rather give him BM. IS this normal? Is he going through a growth spurt?
